The ecosystem

Community.

Manchester's security and engineering communities are already strengthened by groups including OWASP Manchester, 2600 Manchester, Cybrewery, InfoSec Manchester, and many others. BSides Manchester exists alongside them, not instead of them.

Manchester has an active, generous community that has been running events, meetups, and gatherings throughout the years when BSides Manchester was dormant. These groups have kept the city connected and have shaped the technical culture we are stepping back into.

BSides Manchester is not here to replace or compete with any of them. We are here to add a recurring cross-disciplinary day to the mix, and to support, signal-boost, and partner with the communities already doing the work.

03 Get involved

Volunteer with us.

BSides Manchester is organised entirely by volunteers, and volunteers ran our October event, Ground Truth. For the full day in 2027 we will need more help, with everything from venue setup to registration, from workshop facilitation to photography.

If you would like to be involved, email us and tell us what you are interested in.
